Study Summary

Benaroya Research Institute and the Immune Drivers of Autoimmune Disease Program are conducting a study to understand how the immune system functions differently in people with and without Down syndrome and with and without diabetes risk markers. We want to learn about how the immune system naturally changes over time in different people, and how each of us can respond a little differently to vaccines and infections.  

Eligibility Criteria

You may be eligible if you: 

• Are age 1 year and older  
• Have not been diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes  
• Have not been diagnosed with any other autoimmune disease  
• Are not receiving immunotherapy treatment  

What will study participants be asked to do?

• 3 in-person study visits with blood draws over 2 years 
• Monthly at-home health surveys and finger sticks
