Bio Kazushige Ninomiya

Kazushige Ninomiya, PhD

Background

Kazushige (Kaz) Ninomiya received his PhD from Tokyo Medical and Dental University (Tokyo, Japan) in 2009. He then held an associate professor position at Chiba University (Chiba, Japan). During these times, he developed the cell targeting antibodies for mouse basophils. Two antibodies, called Ba103 or Ba160, to deplete basophils in vivo have therapeutic effects in chronic allergic skin diseases, anaphylaxis and so on.

In 2018 he came to BRI to study onco-immunology about colorectal cancer as a Staff Scientist, and joining the faculty in 2024. Dr. Ninomiya is currently a Research Assistant Member at BRI in the Center for Fundamental Immunology.
